EMR TECHNOLOGIES
Founded by Electricity Power System and Telecommunications Field Installation & Commissioning (I&C) Engineer’s with 90 years combined
field knowledge and experience of
our Industries.
Our vision was to reduce exposure
to Electro Magnetic Radiation within our work environment and to mitigate any possible long term effects of exposure to EMF’s.
Both Industry sectors rely on dedicated Engineer’s to keep the Countries Power and Telecommunications flowing, we believe our industries to be the
most rewarding and therefore want everyone to feel confident they’re protected.
Complying with current standards is everyone's duty however from time
to time we unexpectantly cross
that line.
EMR Technologies have developed
Arc Flash combined with EMR protection workwear for everyday damping of RF and LF electric
fields.
WaveMon personal exposimeter’s
alert workers of exposure limits
while in the field and logging daily values. This is a useful tool to prove compliance with The Control of Electromagnetic Fields at Work (CEMFAW) Regulations 2016

AWARENESS
New UK legislation (The Control
of Electromagnetic Fields at Work Regulations (CEMFAW) 2016 - transposed from the EMF Directive 2013/35/EU) puts a responsibility
on all employers to assess and,
if necessary, limit their worker’s exposure to electromagnetic radiation.
All employers now have a legal responsibility to assess their employees electromagnetic field exposure. If an employer exceeds
limits within the new EMF at work legislation, they can face employee health issues along with industrial tribunals and HSE enforcement
action!
There is scientific evidence that some modulated fields (pulsed or repeated signals) are bioactive, which increases the likelihood that they could have health impacts with chronic exposure even at low exposure levels.
Modulation signals may interfere
with normal, non-linear biological
processes.
Modulation is a fundamental factor
that should be taken into account.

LEGISLATION
The Control of Electromagnetic Fields at Work (CEMFAW) Regulations 2016 came into force in the UK on the 1st July 2016.
The regulations exist to ensure workers do not suffer adverse health effects from exposure to electromagnetic fields.
In summary, all employers must:
• Assess the levels of electromagnetic fields that their employees may be exposed too
• Ensure that employee exposure is below CEMFAW Exposure Limit Values
• Take action if employees are exposed to electromagnetic fields above CEMFAW Exposure Limit Values
• When appropriate, assess the risks of a worker’s exposure and minimise those risks
• Take into account ‘workers at particular risk
• Provide information and training on the risks posed to employees by EMF exposure
in the workplace
• Provide health surveillance or medical examination as appropriate
• Record the findings of the EMF exposure assessment, action plan and subsequent
risk assessments

CONFORMITY
Preliminary Note The test samples are irradiated with a defined power flux density S1, the pervasive power flux density is measured.

The measurement of the attenuation
of electromagnetic waves between 40/600 MHz – 40 GHz (selectively depending on the material properties)
has been conducted in accordance
with standard IEEE Std 299™-2006
or following to standard ASTM
D4935-10.
The shielding attenuation is a non-dimensional measured variable in decibels (dB) and calculated
as follows:

Measurement setup
The measuring devices we use are two Vector Network Analysers Rhode & Schwarz ZNB20 and ZNB40, with a measuring dynamics up to 140 dB.
The antennas we use for IEEE Std 299™-2006 are broadband horn antennas.
The antennas we use for ASTM
D4935-10 are broadband TEM cells
with radial polarisation.
